LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAMME

Welcome……

…….to our Learn  to  Swim programme SWIMSTARS part of the SWIMEXCELL ESHER SC. The classes are half an hour long with a maximum of 4 children in each group. To aid confidence the swimming teacher is in the water for the non swimmer/beginner group. All the teachers work together as a close team to ensure the children have fun learning to swim and improve their swimming skills in a structured, progressive way. If your child is 5 years or over there is a course to suit your needs.   And once you become an advanced swimmer and move up to join the Pre Squad, the next step is SWIMEXCELL ESHER SC.

The class levels are divided as follows:     

• Nonswimmer: unable to blow bubbles and unable to swim without floats.
• Beginner: able to float with/without a float and confident putting face in water.
• Beginner +: able to swim 5m or more using a recognizable stroke on front & back.
• Improver: able to swim 10m frontcrawl, backstroke plus breaststroke legs.
• Advanced: able to swim at least 25m frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke – butterfly will be introduced / developed.
• Diving Course: Where emphasis is put on improving racing dive skills.
• Pre Squad: for those swimmers who have progressed through to Advanced . Designed to continue developing the swimmer in a club style format.
